Bug fix#

Minor bugfixes for readers and algorithms#

Fixes for the amsr2_netcdf reader to read multiple files. Modified the HNCC algorithm to better capture TC imagery. Added a static sector for Kazakhstan.

Environment and minor testing updates

  • Quote additional_args in interactive_pytest.sh so it works with more than one word.

  • setup/config_geoips - make GEOIPS_LOGGING_LEVEL a supported overrideable env var. and default to info. Also make GEOIPS_PERSISTENT_DATA_DIRS overrideable env var with default to $GEOIPS BASEDIR/../persistent_data_dirs.

  • output_checkers.py - print out all the files in the output comparison directory when there are no matching files (easier CTRL-click)

  • color_prompt - include GEOIPS BASEDIR in prompt, and source color_prompt from config_geoips

  • check_system_requirements - add create_environment_file for consistent naming, and allow copying to final requirements.txt (and moved all the environment files to new naming)

  • base_install/full_install/site_install - put config install each on their own line, i think install-github doesn’t support more than one in the call, and having them on separate lines makes it easier to follow changes anyway. Also alphabetize. Also make sure we have the correct set of test data repos / packages for each.

  • tests/integration_tests/test_integration.py mark full integration tests optional.

  • tests/utils/link_integration_test_packages.sh THIS ONLY LINKS pytest.ini now ;-O pytest_packges linking now breaks with pydantic validation (more than one location for the same plugin)

  • tests/yaml_configs/abi_test.yaml test_goes16_eqc_3km_subsector -> test_goeseast_eqc_3km_landocean

  • tests/yaml_configs/abi_test_full_zarr_cache_backend.yaml test_goes16_eqc_3km_nadir -> test_goeseast_eqc_3km_nadir

  • tests/yaml_configs/abi_test_low_memory_zarr_cache_backend.yaml test_goes16_longlat_20km_fulldisk -> test_goeseast_longlat_50km_fulldisk

  • geoips/commandline/geoips_config.py GEOIPS_PACKAGES_DIR for check_system_requirements.sh! we accidentally merge conflicted this to GEOIPS_TESTDATA_DIR, because we were thinking “config install is installing data, why are we using GEOIPS_PACKAGES_DIR”. That is not right.

  • tests/integration_tests/tiny_sectors/tiny_sectors_geostationary.sh - needs to be None not null for literal_eval! json.loads needed null.

Other minor bug fixes

  • contribute and installing index.rst - Fix links for installation script in index.rst files.

Satellite zenith angle cutoff fixes

  • ami.static.Visible.imagery_clean.sh and ami.static.Infrared.imagery_clean.sh

    • geostationary_geolocation.py area_def defined lon/lats don’t have the correct mask, use satzen mask since it is correct.

    • ami_netcdf.py - update so defaults to 75 satzen cutoff, since that is what it was hard coded to use before (until we update all test outputs)

Very slight coverage change / minimal test output change

  • All the seviri test outputs

    • global cylindrical from 22.76 to 22.84

    • Night Microphys only from 22.76 to 22.81 !

    • unprojected from 69.07 to 69.10

    • NOTE WV-Upper no_self_register unprojected_image has unk coverage, so unchnaged!
